11 Reasons why you should smile

1. You look much more attractive smiling

Now there is no doubt about  that one is there?
If ever you were going to paint a picture of yourself, would you pick the moment you were most annoyed  or that moment when you hit a jackpot and were feeling like a champ?
The answer is a give away. Everyone would choose that moment when they were pumped up and joy was glistening in their eyes.

However, the real question is: why choose that particular moment?
Answer
Because ten years from now, when you take at look back at that picture it will make you smile again. Not only because of the win, but because of just how happy and good you looked and felt in that particular moment.

Let's bring it down to the ground. Why do people smile 99% of the times when taking pictures?
Because they look more attractive smiling than they would with a neutral or grumpy face.

2, Everyone else around you needs your smile

Make those around you feel at ease. A smile is guaranteed to ease down tension.
In some work places it is actually mandatory to wear a smile! Those in public service can relate.

3. There is someone thinking about you

Nomatter the difficulty, there is always someone by your side to support you. It is because despite the situation, your life means something to someone else's.
We are social beings, what hurts an individual can also cause pain to those around. A smile can heal a social circle.

4. Power of positivity

Positivity can help anyone sail through some bumpy patches in life. Above all, positivity nurtures an imagination that leads to productivity and great success.
It all starts with a smile.

5. It requires very little effort

Science reckons that it takes more muscles to frown than it takes to spread a nice smile across your face.
How many muscles exactly...?
I wouldn't know but it would surely depend on the extent of your smile. I imagine a grin will be a bit more expensive :D

6. It is relaxing

Let's talk science. According to neuronation, smiling makes your brain happy and this in turn aids the body's relaxation through a release of endorphins, dopamine and serotonin into the bloodstream to lower blood pressure levels.

7. It makes you approachable

At some point in life we all have asked for directions or at least made an enquiry. Most of the time smiling faces are the ones that win the contest.

Smiling is not just limited to providing road assistance. Even in the business sector, many opportunities arise merely through conversing. It could be at the gym, sports club or social gathering; being approachable can really come in handy.  A smile may be the key to your next business meeting.

8. Its what you want to see from others

In as much as you feel uncomfortable around straight-faced people, it is the same way other people feel around you.
As the old saying goes, 'do to others what you want done to you.'

9. Its free of charge

Need I say more?

11. You are alive, meaning another chance

Just being alive today is another chance to write a new chapter. It is another chance to take a swing at your goals and pursue your dreams. Another chance to create an even brighter future by learning from previous mistakes.
Smile at the opportunity to make everything better.
